Beschreibung

Fucoxanthine is a polymerase chain inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the transcription-dependent and -independent activities of RNA polymerase. Fucoxanthine has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of HL60 cells, 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, and adipose tissue. Fucoxanthine also inhibits the activity of key enzymes involved in lipid metabolism such as cyclin D2, C/EBPα and PPARγ. This compound also reduces mitochondrial membrane potential in adipose tissue. Fucoxanthine may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by mitochondria.
