Beschreibung:
5-Formyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is a dietary nutrient that can be obtained from tyrosine and other amino acids. It has been used as a carbon source in the laboratory to study the effect of dietary fibers on the metabolism of Clostridium species. 5-Formyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid has also been used as a peptidomimetic to study oligosaccharides and their role in human colon carcinogenesis. 5-Formyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to have strong inhibitory effects on methylesterase, an enzyme found in human feces which breaks down bile acids and may play a role in colon cancer.
