Elagolix is a carbamate that is used in industrial production of di-tert-butyl dicarbonate. It is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H9NO2. Elagolix can be prepared by treating urea with trifluoromethyl chloroformate and triethylamine. The reaction proceeds via two steps: first, the formation of the intermediate fluoroformamide and then its hydrolysis to form elagolix.
