Fluoromethyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate is a fluorine-containing alkylating agent that is used as a radiotracer in positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT). It is taken up by cells through the cb2 receptor, which is found on the surface of cells. Fluoromethyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate binds to choline molecules in the cell, which can be detected with PET imaging. This reaction solution is then placed into a reaction vessel to provide enantiomeric purity.
