Beschreibung

Falecalcitriol is a form of vitamin D that has been modified to have a more basic structure. It is used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and other bowel diseases. It is also used as an analog for cevimeline hydrochloride, which was discontinued due to its carcinogenic effects. Falecalcitriol has been shown to decrease the permeability of the cell membrane and increase the glomerular filtration rate in rats with kidney damage. The drug also has anti-inflammatory effects and can reduce the symptoms of bowel disease when administered intravenously.
