• Beschreibung: Farnesyl thiosalicylic acid (FTSA) is a synthetic compound that exhibits potent anticancer activity. FTSA binds to the active site of the enzyme protein kinase C-alpha (PKC-α), which prevents its phosphorylation and activation. This prevents the activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinases, which are involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. FTSA also inhibits cancer cell migration by blocking MMP-9 activity, leading to tumor regression. FTSA has been shown to be effective against chemotherapy resistant breast cancer cells, as well as cancer cells from other tissues such as colon, prostate, and ovary.
