• Beschreibung: Felbinac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic properties. It is a racemic mixture of the enantiomers R-(+)-felbinac and S-(-)-felbinac. The chemical structure of felbinac is similar to that of aspirin, but it has a lower level of side effects. Felbinac inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase reactions. It also has anti-inflammatory activity, and reduces the production of pro-inflammatory mediators such as PGE2 levels in human serum, which may be due to its ability to inhibit signal pathways in the cell nucleus.A number of toxicological studies have been conducted using felbinac on rats, mice, rabbits, and dogs. No major toxicological effects were observed at doses up to 1000 mg/kg body weight for 28 days.
