• Beschreibung: 2-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzoic acid (2FMBA) is a potent antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms. 2FMBA has significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and also has significant antifungal activity against Candida albicans. 2FMBA is active in the presence of light and is a strong acid. It can be synthesized by refluxing benzoic acid with hydrazine, or by reacting an aromatic carboxylic acid with oxychloride.; 2FMBA is used to treat bacterial infections such as E. coli, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Shigella and Mycoplasma; fungal infections such as Candida albicans; and protozoal infections such as Giardia lamblia.
