- Fmoc-L-Leu-Wang resin
Fmoc-L-leucine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin is a hyperactive, synthetic analog of leucine that is synthesized by reacting Fmoc-L-leucine with 4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol. The chemical structure of this compound allows it to bind and inhibit the ribosome and thus prevent protein synthesis. Fmoc-L-leucine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin has been shown to have antibacterial activity against bacteria such as P. aeruginosa, which may be due to its interaction with the membrane of these cells. Fmoc-L-leucine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin also inhibits the growth of invertebrates such as Apidaecin, which suggests that this compound can be used for insect control.
