Beschreibung

Flavone is a natural compound that is isolated from plants. The molecule has anti-inflammatory properties and can inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes in vitro. Flavone also has locomotor activity, which may be due to its binding to the basic structure of the enzyme. This molecule has been shown to have biological properties that are similar to those of erythromycin, which includes inhibition of bacterial dna gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Flavone has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect in a mouse model system and in human serum samples. It also shows potent antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans with an IC50 value of less than 10 μM.
