5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol is a broad-spectrum antioxidant that has been shown to have inhibitory activities against cancer cells. It also has broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. 5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol has been shown to be effective against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria as well as fungi. This compound inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to cell wall synthesis enzymes such as peptidoglycan synthase and methyltransferases. 5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol can be used in solvents due to its solubility in polar solvents. This compound is also a potential candidate for use in drug development because of its significant inhibitory activity against a broad range of microorganisms
