• Beschreibung: 3-Formylchromone is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant drug that is a chromone derivative. 3-Formylchromone inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species, which may be due to its ability to act as a free radical scavenger. It also has been shown to inhibit the activity of malonic acid, an intermediate in the Krebs cycle and a precursor for reactive oxygen species. 3-Formylchromone also increases mitochondrial membrane potential by inhibiting the activity of complex I in the electron transport chain. 3-Formylchromone has been shown to be genotoxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic in biological studies with rats.
