Fmoc-trans-4-aminocyclohexane carboxylic acid is a synthetic amino acid that is used as a precursor for the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It is also an intermediate in the production of natural products, such as alkaloids, antibiotics, and other pharmaceuticals. Fmoc-trans-4-aminocyclohexane carboxylic acid is found in urine samples of healthy people and has been shown to be involved in mediating spontaneous urination. It has been radiolabeled with carbon-11 to study its binding affinity to prostate specific antigen (PSA) which may lead to new treatments for prostate cancer.
