Beschreibung

1-Fluoro-2,6-dichloropyridinium tetrafluoroborate (1FDCP) is an irreversible inhibitor of the diphenylmethane-type oxidases and was originally developed for use in organic synthesis. 1FDCP irreversibly inhibits the enzyme by covalently binding to a cysteine residue. This process is biphasic with a rapid initial phase followed by a slower rate of reaction. The electrochemical studies of 1FDCP on the surface of electrodes have shown that it has electron transfer properties. 1FDCP is soluble in acetonitrile but insoluble in most other solvents.
