Fmoc-D-Selenomethionine is an inhibitor of adenosine, a potent inhibitor of cancer cells, and an inhibitor of parasitic diseases such as malaria. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in hct116 cells. Fmoc-D-Selenomethionine may also be useful as a chemotherapeutic agent against cancer due to its inhibition of DNA synthesis and protein synthesis in hct116 cells.
