4-Fluoro-N,N-Dimethylaniline (4FDMA) is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of amines. It has been studied by means of nmr spectroscopy and was found to have a single peak at δ=2.5 ppm. The nmr spectrum also showed signals for anilines, n-hexane, and functional groups. 4FDMA has been used in chemical reactions to produce other compounds with different functional groups. The molecule has a dipole moment as well as UV absorption properties, which are activated by ultraviolet irradiation. This property can be exploited in the production of organic fluorides such as ethylene fluoride and propylene fluoride.
