• Beschreibung: 1-Fluoro-1,1,2-trichloroethane (HCFC-123) is a nonflammable, colorless gas. It has been used as a refrigerant and as a solvent in the production of fluorocarbons. The thermal expansion coefficient of HCFC-123 at 0 °C is 1.8 × 10−4/K, which is about two times greater than that of carbon dioxide at the same temperature. The water vapor pressure of HCFC-123 at 25 °C is 0.073 mm Hg and its equilibrium partial pressure in air is 2.5 mm Hg at 25 °C. HCFC-123 absorbs ultraviolet radiation with a maximum wavelength of 240 nm and an absorption coefficient of 3200 cm−1 M−1 in the range 200–400 nm. This compound reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form trifluoroacetic acid and hydrogen chloride:; HCFC-123 + HF → CF3
