4-Fluoro-N,N-Dimethylbenzamide is a white powder that is soluble in water. It has a molecular weight of 150.88. 4-Fluoro-N,N-Dimethylbenzamide has been shown to form dimers by resonance and has a constant of -5.5 kcal/mol with the pyrrole ring. The carbonyl group on the molecule is substituted with a hydrogen atom and the carbonyl oxygen atom forms hydrogen bonds with the amide nitrogen atoms to stabilize its structure. The carbonate substituents are located on the benzene ring and have basicity values of 0.4 for both groups. 4-Fluoro-N,N-Dimethylbenzamide also has dihedral angles of 180° between the two methyl groups and 120° between the methylene group and phenyl ring. This compound also reacts well with sodium hydroxide due to its acidic nature (pKa = 9
