Beschreibung

The 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-pyrrolidinone (FPP) is an organic compound that can be used as a precursor to prepare other derivatives. It can be converted into the corresponding acid by reaction with bases, HCl, or HBr. Oxidation of FPP with hydrogen peroxide gives the corresponding acid and formic acid. FPP has been shown to have an interaction with biomolecules such as piperidine and n-substituted piperidines. Mechanistically, FPP reacts with biomolecular targets by forming an electron-deficient intermediate that undergoes electrophilic addition reactions or by attacking nucleophiles in a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The carboxylic acid derivatives of FPP are deformylative and dehydrogenation products of its ester moiety. They are also known to undergo aromatization reactions on contact with atmospheric oxygen.
