Beschreibung:
The 4-Fluoro-2-Methyl-Benzenesulfonamide is a potent inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase enzyme COX-2. This inhibition leads to decreased production of prostaglandin, which is a mediator of pain and inflammation. The structure activity relationship study showed that these compounds have inhibitory activity on COX-2 with an IC50 value of 0.0027 μM. The sulfonamides are structurally related to aspirin, but they lack the acetyl group at position 3 and contain a sulfonyl group instead. They are used as antiinflammatory agents for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory disorders.END>
