Beschreibung

Firocoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of NSAIDs. It is used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute pain. Firocoxib has been shown to significantly reduce the number of patients with inflammatory diseases who require surgery. This drug also has significant interactions with other drugs and can cause life-threatening side effects. Firocoxib inhibits the production of prostaglandins in response to inflammation, which are molecules that promote inflammation and increase pain sensitivity. Firocoxib also inhibits cholinergic activity, serotonergic activity, and bladder function. Clinical trials have been performed to test firocoxib on ovary cancer cells in vitro and in vivo assays have been performed on rats with bladder cancer. The uptake of firocoxib by these cells was found to be low, suggesting that it may not be effective against this type of cancer.
