Fluotrimazol is a fungicide that inhibits the growth of fungi and bacteria. It has been shown to have an anticancer effect on cultured cells, with IC50 values of 0.01-0.1 mM. Fluotrimazol is a crystalline compound that exists in two different polymorphs; the alpha form and beta form. The alpha form is more stable at ambient temperatures, while the beta form is more stable at higher temperatures. There are no known bacterial or fungal resistance mechanisms for fluotrimazol.
Fluorotrimazole can be used as a fungicide to control plant diseases caused by fungi such as Botrytis cinerea, Alternaria alternata, Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium ultimum, and Plasmopara viticola or bacterial diseases caused by Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas syringae.
Fluorotrimazole can also be used as a biocide
