MS 153 also inhibits glutamate release from nerve terminals, suggesting that this drug could be used as an anti-seizure medication. The uptake of MS 153 into the brain is mediated by both extracellular and expressed mechanisms. It is transported across the blood-brain barrier by an active transport process, as well as by passive diffusion.
