Glycerol-1-phosphate magnesium salt hydrate is a mineral that has been shown to stimulate bone growth and accelerate the healing of bone defects. It also has been used in cell culture studies to study biochemical abnormalities that may lead to diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, or cancer. Studies have shown that this compound can enhance energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Glycerol-1-phosphate magnesium salt hydrate is usually administered orally in solid form. This compound is not very soluble in water but can be dissolved in aqueous solutions containing detergents or phosphatase enzymes.
