Beschreibung:Z-Glu-Gly-OH is a cysteine donor for the chemical cross-linking of keratin proteins. Follicle cells are a major source of keratin, and glutamic acid is the most abundant amino acid in these cells. Glutamine is also abundant in keratins, and may be responsible for the cornified layer. Cysteine is used to cross-link the structural proteins, while glutamic acid and glutamine are involved in cross-linking the fibre and residue. Cross-linking results in an insoluble protein matrix that provides strength to skin.
