• Beschreibung: Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride (GHPC) is a cationic surfactant that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of vaginal atrophy. GHPC has been shown to be an excellent antimicrobial agent for the prevention and treatment of microbial infection. It has also been used as a detergent additive. The hydroxyl group on GHPC interacts with fatty acids, causing it to form a complex with citric acid, which increases its effectiveness in reducing bacterial populations. The citric acid-GHPC complex also inhibits the growth of gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus species.
