• Beschreibung: Glycidyl methacrylate is a glycol ether that has been stabilized with MEHQ. The solvent is a clear liquid that exhibits strong water- and alcohol-repellent properties. Glycidyl methacrylate is used as a polymerization initiator in the production of polymers, such as vinyl polymers, which are used in the manufacture of paints, adhesives, and coatings. Glycidyl methacrylate is also used to produce protective coatings for metals such as aluminum and zirconium oxide. In vitro experiments have shown that glycidyl methacrylate reacts with basic proteins at pH 7.4 to form hydrolyzed products. Langmuir adsorption isotherms were generated for this reaction system to determine thermodynamic data on the reactant and product concentrations.
