The (S)-glycidyl methyl ether complex with lanthanum has been shown experimentally at room temperature and at temperatures up to 50°C, but not at elevated temperatures. This complex can be formed non-covalently or covalently, with d-alanine as the nucleophile. Solvents used for this process include acetone and dichloromethane.
