Beschreibung

7-Hydroxycoumarin is a coumarin derivative that is used as an analytical reagent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells, which are derived from human promyelocytic leukemia cells. 7-Hydroxycoumarin has also been shown to have anticarcinogenic properties and may be useful in the treatment of bowel diseases. This compound binds to a number of proteins and inhibits their activity, including recombinant cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP1A2, CYP2D6, CYP3A4) and model systems such as rat liver microsomes and human liver microsomes. 7-Hydroxycoumarin also binds to chlorogenic acids found in natural compounds like coffee beans, apples, blueberries, green tea leaves and grapes.
