Beschreibung

5-(Hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione is a synthetic immunosuppressant that binds to the receptor molecule on the surface of cells. This binding inhibits immune responses and suppresses regulatory functions. 5-(Hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione has been shown to be efficacious in treating chronic bronchitis and cancer. It also has been shown to reduce toxic effects from antibiotics and radiation treatment. The drug is metabolized by CYP450 enzymes and can cause metabolic disorders such as hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus in patients with certain genetic conditions. 5-(Hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione can also cause various symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, nausea/vomiting, arthralgia/myalgia
