2-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)quinoline-4-carboxylic acid (2HPCA) is a quinoline derivative that has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties. It has been found to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in cells and limit the release of proinflammatory mediators as well as inhibiting the production of reactive oxygen species. 2HPCA has also been found to be an effective inhibitor of chloride secretion and can be used to treat chronic bronchitis, bowel disease, and other types of inflammation. It is a compound that belongs to the chemical group of phenols and can be used as a corrosion inhibitor or as a hydroxyl group donor in chemical reactions.
