1-[(2-Hydroxyethyl)amino]propan-2-ol is a glycol ether, which is a cross-linking agent for polyurethane. It has been used as a dry weight and thermal expansion agent in the production of polyurethane. The chemical's cavity can be filled with various substances, such as inorganic acids, diameters, and particles. 1-[(2-Hydroxyethyl)amino]propan-2-ol has also been used to produce malonic acid. This chemical is viscosity and hydrochloric acid resistant and has a hydroxyl group that can react with benzalkonium chloride (BAC).
