Beschreibung

1-(2-Hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)ethanone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against carcinoma cells. It is also a potential candidate for use in the treatment of other types of cancer. Studies have shown that 1-(2-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)ethanone inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis, protein synthesis, and lipid metabolism. The chemical structure of 1-(2-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)ethanone was determined by crystal x-ray diffraction techniques and found to exist as a tautomeric form. The biological properties of 1-(2-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)ethanone are not yet known, but it has been conjugated with monomers and x-ray structures have been determined.
