Beschreibung

4-Hydrazinocarbonyl-benzene-sulfonamide is a potent inhibitor of nitrous oxide (NO) production. It is an efficient method for the treatment of pulmonary diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 4-Hydrazinocarbonyl-benzene-sulfonamide inhibits NO production by inhibiting the enzyme Nitric Oxide Synthase 1 (NOS1), which catalyzes the conversion of L-arginine to citrulline and NO. This inhibition prevents the formation of nitric oxide, leading to a decrease in inflammation and improved lung function. 4-Hydrazinocarbonyl-benzene-sulfonamide binds to an allosteric site on NOS1 and inhibits its activity with low micromolar affinity.
