Beschreibung:
2,3,4,6,7,8-Hexachlorodibenzofuran is a polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin. It has been detected in serum of humans and animals analysed at the National Institute of Public Health and Environmental Protection in the Netherlands. The compound is thought to be a byproduct of the manufacturing process of pentachlorophenol or pentachlorobiphenyls. Kinetic studies have shown that 2,3,4,6,7,8-hexachlorodibenzofuran is taken up by plants from soil and water. Biomimetic assays have been used to measure uptake of 2,3,4,6,7,8-hexachlorodibenzofuran by plants.
