• Beschreibung: 6-Hydroxy methaqualone is a chiral drug that is metabolized by the liver to its active form, which is 6-hydroxy methaqualone. This active form inhibits the enzyme CYP3A4 and has a potent inhibitory effect on the activity of other enzymes in the liver, such as CYP2D6. 6-Hydroxy methaqualone has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of CYP2D6 in human liver microsomes. The elimination phase of 6-hydroxy methaqualone is longer than its halflife and can be found in urine samples for up to 12 hours after ingestion. Analytical methods for this drug are based on gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
