Beschreibung:
3-(N-Hydroxyamino)propyl phosphonate is an antimicrobial agent that is structurally related to phosphonic acid. It inhibits the dephosphorylation of the antibiotic erythromycin by inhibiting the enzyme phosphonate hydrolase, which is responsible for the cleavage of phosphate from the antibiotic. 3-(N-Hydroxyamino)propyl phosphonate has been shown to be active against a range of microorganisms and has been shown to be more efficient than other analogues. This compound can also be synthesized in three steps from readily available starting materials.
