4'-Hydroxy-2'-methylacetophenone is a synthetic sesquiterpene lactone that is used in cosmetics and as an active ingredient in skin care products. It also has carbon tetrachloride (CCl) solubilizing properties and can be used for fatty acid analysis. 4'-Hydroxy-2'-methylacetophenone is available as a sample preparation reagent for gas chromatography.
