It also inhibits pancreatic lipase, an enzyme involved in fat digestion. 6-Heptyn-1-ol has been shown to be a chiral molecule with two enantiomers that can be synthesized artificially. The (R) form of 6-heptyn-1-ol is more potent than the (S) form in inducing apoptosis and inhibiting pancreatic lipase activity.
