Beschreibung

4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid is a natural compound that is found in the plant Pueraria lobata. It has inhibitory properties against tyrosine, photosynthetic activity and enzyme activities. This compound inhibits methyltransferase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to the substrate. 4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid also inhibits dioxygenase enzymes, which are involved in the oxidation of organic compounds by molecular oxygen. 4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid can be used as a potential chemical biology tool for studying natural products and their biosynthesis.
