2-Hydroxy-4-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyloxy]acetyl-amino]-benzoic acid (BMS-387074) is a calcium chelator that has been shown to be effective in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. It is a selective inhibitor of autophagosomes, which are structures involved in the process of autophagy, and it can be used to study mammalian tissue, autoimmune diseases, bowel disease and cancer. 2-Hydroxy-4-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyloxy]acetyl-amino]-benzoic acid has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on signal transducer activation (STAT), which may help prevent cancer cells from spreading.
