Beschreibung:
3-Heptanone is a viscosous organic solvent with a variety of industrial uses. It is a byproduct of the petroleum industry and can be used as an additive in paints, varnishes, lacquers, and adhesives. 3-Heptanone has been clinically used to treat cancer and may have anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. This effect may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of growth factors or morphogenetic proteins such as choline, which is involved in cellular differentiation. 3-Heptanone also has hydroxyl groups that react with phosphotungstic acid to form esters that are stable in alkaline solution.
