Beschreibung

4-Hydroxybenzenepropanoic acid 2,5-dioxo-1-pyrrolidinyl ester (4HBPD) is a fatty acid that has been shown to have tissue nonspecific biological properties. It is synthesized by the enzyme delta-12 desaturase in the liver and can be found in human serum. A monoclonal antibody against 4HBPD has been used for the detection of this compound, as well as for a kinetic energy reagent. 4HBPD has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and basic protein kinase activities. The experimental solubility data for 4HBPD was determined using an in vitro method and electrochemical detector.
