• Beschreibung: 1,5-Hexadiene is a glycol ether that has high values for skin cancer. It inhibits the growth of cells by binding to DNA in the nucleus and prevents transcription and replication. 1,5-Hexadiene has been shown to have potent antitumor activity in experimental models, inhibiting tumor formation as well as mitochondrial membrane potential. The reaction mechanism is not yet known but it is believed that 1,5-hexadiene may be interacting with diallyl compounds which are found in garlic and other vegetables. Experimental models suggest that optimum concentration of this compound is 0.1%.
