Beschreibung

5-Hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy-6,8-dimethylflavone is a chemical compound that can be found in the genus Melaleuca. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties due to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis and the production of reactive oxygen species. 5-Hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy-6,8-dimethylflavone also has synergistic effects with acetate extract from Melaleuca alternifolia which increases its antimicrobial properties. This compound has been shown to induce apoptosis in skin cells by activating the caspase pathway and inducing apoptosis through protocatechuic acid. 5-Hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy-6,8-dimethylflavone may also be effective for pharmacological treatments for dermatitis.
