Beschreibung:
2-Hydroxy-9-phenyl-1H-phenalen-1-one is a plant phytoalexin that is synthesized from phenylalanine. It has been shown to have an antimicrobial effect against bacteria and fungi, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the biosynthesis of certain proteins. 2-Hydroxy-9-phenyl-1H-phenalen-1-one has also been shown to inhibit the activity of glyphosate, an herbicide that inhibits the enzyme 5'-enolpyruvylshikimate 3'-phosphate synthase (EPSPS). This compound can be used as a marker for photosynthetic oxygenation.
