2-(Henicosafluorodecyl)ethane-1-thiol is a synthetic compound that is used in analytical chemistry. It has been used to study the interactions of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) with carbonyl oxygens, mass spectrometric, and silicon. The results of these studies have led to the development of a new MALDI technique for the analysis of organic compounds. 2-(Henicosafluorodecyl)ethane-1-thiol has also been shown to be an acidic molecule.
2-(Henicosafluorodecyl)ethane-1-thiol was synthesized by Michael Henning as part of his PhD thesis at the University of Cologne in Germany.
