17-Hydroxy-6alpha-(trifluoromethyl)pregn-4-ene-3,20-dione 17-acetate is a synthetic progestin that is used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancers. It binds to the cb2 cannabinoid receptor, which has been shown to be involved in the regulation of immune responses and inflammation. The compound also inhibits the production of estradiol benzoate (EBB), which is a metabolite of estradiol that can cause breast cancer.
