Beschreibung

4-Iodo-1,3-Isobenzofurandione is a nonpolar organic compound. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents. The compound reacts with copper salt to form a complex that reacts with plutella and xylostella to synthesize the insecticide ethyne. The reaction time and selectivity of the reaction are determined by the ratio of 4-iodo-1,3-isobenzofurandione to copper salt. This chemical can be used as a pesticide against plutella and xylostella larvae. 4-Iodo-1,3-isobenzofurandione can be purified by filtration or recrystallization from hydrochloric acid.
