Produktinformation
- 2-Cyano-5-iodothiophene
5-Iodo-2-thiophenecarbonitrile, also known as 5-iodo-2-benzothiophene, is a benzothiophene that has been dehydrated to form a five-membered singlet. This compound is used as a transient and has yielded high yields of furan in a photocleavage reaction. 5-Iodo-2-thiophenecarbonitrile can be synthesized from methylcyclohexane with the use of Wittig reactions. It is also a good sensitizer for photochemical reactions due to its nucleophilic nature.
